Pencils Down uses your academic performance and your outside activities to predict both your first year college GPA and your test score(s). We review current college students using our "similarity score" process to select the most similar matches and use them to predict your future performance.

Each student is provided multiple predictions allowing the target universities to view your potential in a more holistic way. Our output includes:

1. Base GPA (simply a comparison of transcripts to current college students)
2. Core GPA (similar comparison but limited to just "core" classes)
3. Weighted GPA (weighted by recency, high school grade reputation, class type)
4. Extended GPA (adjusted for demographic/behavior factors, e.g. Junior Acheivement)

Pencils Down also supports the application process by:

1. Managing the teacher/counselor recommendation process
2. Supporting the transcript process by normalizing class names
3. Providing suggestion on how to improve your predicted scores
4. Providing summaries of similar student performance by major
5. Suggesting activities for your college freshman year shown to improve performance
6. Inform selected univeristies of your interest

The process includes a set of activities that you complete that allow us to create our predicted performance reports.

Your tasks:

1. Agreeing to the "Terms of Service" granting access to your transcripts
2. Providing your demographic and requested activities information
3. Identifying universities and majors of interest

1. Using the data provided to identify the most similar college students
2. Using the similar student's performance to predict your performance
3. Providing suggestions on how to improve your predicted performance
4. Providing Common App information to your universities of interest
5. Providing you the performance data for the similar students - including a breakdown by major
6. Providing you activities and behaviors that are shown to improve college performance
